If she was annoyed with you then she might have shown other signs of it, in her body language, by doing things such as:

• Having tight lips when talking to you
• Smiling at you only with the mouth
• Looking away from you a lot
• Standing further away from you

She is nervous

Alternatively, the reason that she was giving you short answers could have been that she was nervous and she didn’t want to say something that would make her look silly.

The reason that she was nervous could have been that she had some social anxiety. This would be more likely if she was also giving other people short answers and if she was showing similar body language around other people as well.

If she was nervous then she might have shown other signs of being nervous such as:

• Struggling to hold eye contact
• Rubbing her face, arms or neck a lot
• Fidgeting
• Having a dry mouth and coughing
• Tapping the finders and feet a lot
