Why would a guy copy you?

If a guy has been copying you then you might be wondering why and what it might mean about the way that he feels about you.

This post will show you a number of reasons why he might copy you and why other guys might do the same in the future.

So, why would a guy copy you? It could be because he is attracted to you especially if he only seems to do it with you and he shows other body language signs of attraction. He might also do it naturally, be teasing you or consider you as a friend.

There are actually a number of reasons why a guy might copy you and there are a number of things that you can consider when trying to understand why he might be doing it.

Why a guy would copy you

Each of the different reasons why a guy might copy you will likely come with a number of clues in the way that he does it and the body language that he shows.

Below, I will mention a number of reasons why a guy might copy you, the signs to look for and the things to consider.

He is attracted to you

People will often mirror the body language of other people when they are attracted to them and this could be why he is doing it with you.

The reason that mirroring your body language could be a sign that he is attracted to you is that it suggests that he wants you to consider him as a part of your group. If this is why he mirrors you then it would be more likely that he would do it subconsciously rather than doing it on purpose consciously.

It would be more likely that he copies you due to being attracted to you if he only seems to do it with you and if his body language is different around you compared to when he is with other people.

If he is attracted to you then it would be likely that he would show signs of attraction, in his body language, when he is around you.

These signs could include:

• Holding prolonged eye contact with you
• Asking you the most questions
• Keeping his focus on you when multiple people are talking
• Glancing at you a lot
• Adjusting his appearance when he sees you
• Touching you a lot
• Standing closer to you than he does with other people
• Pointing his feet at you (people often point their feet at people that they are attracted to)
• Watching you and getting anxious when you are around other men
• Getting defensive when other men are with you both
• Having dilated pupils when looking at you (people’s pupils will often become more dilated when looking at someone that they are attracted to)

He considers you a friend

The reason that he does it could also be that he considers you as a friend.

If that is why he does it then it would be more likely that he would do it subconsciously. This is because mirroring the body language of the people around us will increase the chances of getting accepted by the group.

It would also be more likely if he also copies the body language of other people, in your friendship group, in a similar way.

If he does seem to be copying other people, as well, then it could still be the case that he is attracted to you. If he is then it would be more likely that he would show signs of attraction when he is around you.

He does it naturally

It could be the case that he was doing it naturally and that he wasn’t actually copying you.

This would be more likely if he only copied you in one unintentional way such as if he said something like you normally would or he made one similar gesture. Whereas, if he copied your body language in multiple different ways then it would be less likely that he does it, himself, naturally.

He is teasing you

The reason that he was copying you could be that he was teasing you.

This would be more likely if he did it in an overt way that was not subconscious. Such as if he imitated something that you normally say. If he copied your body language by standing with a similar stance as you or he used similar words as you subconsciously then it would be less likely that he was teasing you.

If he was teasing you then it would also be a sign that he likes you and it would help to consider the other body language signs that he was showing. If he was showing some signs of attraction then it would make it a lot more likely that he was showing attraction to you.

Consider how he reacts when he sees you

When trying to figure out why he copied you it would help to consider how he reacts when he sees you.

If he reacts by changing his body language and behavior, in a noticeable way, then it would make it more likely that he has particularly good feelings about you.

If he reacts by doing things such as:

• Adjusting his appearance
• Adjusting his posture
• Facing towards you (especially with his feet)
• Holding eye contact with you
• Moving closer to you
• Having more dilated pupils

Then it would make it more likely that he was copying you because he was showing attraction to you.

Consider how he copies you

It would also help to consider the way in which he copies you.

If he also copies other people in the same way then it would suggest that he is, naturally, trying to fit in with the group.

If he copies you by imitating things that you say then it could be that he is just teasing you. However, it could also be a sign that he likes you and it would help to consider the other body language signs he shows around you.

Consider how he interacts with other people

It would also help to consider the way that he interacts with other people and how it differs to the way that he interacts with you.

If he shows the same body language with his other friends as he shows with you and he also seems to copy them in a similar way then it would make it more likely that he considers you a friend.

Whereas, if he shows different body language around you and he only seems to copy you then it would make it more likely that he is attracted to you.

Look for multiple body language clues

When considering what his body language could be suggesting it would help to consider multiple signs at the same time.

The reason for this is that a single body language sign can have many different meanings. This can cause single body language signs to be less reliable on their own.

Whereas, if he were to show multiple signs that all suggest the same meaning then it would make it more likely that he is showing them for that specific reason.
