If she is attracted to you then it would be likely that she would show other signs of attraction when around you such as:

• Holding prolonged eye contact with you
• Touching you a lot
• Standing closer to you than she does with other people
• Brushing her hair to the side when she sees you
• Stroking her hair when talking to you
• Adjusting her appearance when she sees you
• Laughing and looking to see if you are also laughing
• Giggling a lot at the things that you say
• Watching you when you are with other girls

She was doing it to amuse herself

It might be the case that she was doing it to amuse herself.

This would be more likely if you do not know her very well, if she did it when she could have sat somewhere else and if she did it while her friends were watching and she was looking at her friends while doing it.

She just didn’t want to stand

It could be the case that she really didn’t want to have to stand so she sat on your lap.

This would be more likely if she was a girl that you know, if she sat on your knee more than she sat on your lap and if it was in a situation where she had to stand and there were no other seats such as on a bus or train.

Consider when and where she did it

When considering why she sat on your lap it would help to consider where she did it.

If she sat on your lap when you were at a party then it would make it more likely that she was either showing attraction to you or she was doing it to amuse herself. It would help to consider how she did it and if her friends were watching or if she was showing other signs of attraction.

If she did it when you were in a cramped location and there were no other seats then it would make it more likely that she was doing it because she didn’t want to stand. But, she could still have been showing attraction.

Consider how she reacts to seeing you

It would also help to consider the way that she reacts to seeing you.

If she reacts to seeing you by noticeably changing her body language, in a positive way, then it would make it more likely that she was showing attraction to you.

The means that if she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

• Brushing her hair to the side
• Adjusting her appearance
• Seeking eye contact with you
• Positioning herself to be nearer to you
• Facing you

Then it would be more likely that she sat on your lap due to being attracted to you.

Consider how she interacts with other people

It would also help to compare the way that she interacts with other people with how she interacts with you.

If she also does similar things with other people and she shows similar body language signs around them then it would be less likely that she did it due to showing attraction to you.

Whereas, if she only did it with you and she showed different body language signs around you then it would make it more likely that she was showing attraction to you.

Consider multiple body language signs

When considering what her body language could have been suggesting it would help to consider multiple aspects of it at the same time.

This is because a single body language sign will have multiple possible meanings. This makes single body language signs unreliable on their own.

Whereas, it would be more likely that she would show multiple body language signs that all suggest the same thing for that exact reason.
