If a girl recently led you on then you might be wondering why she did it.

So, why would a girl lead you on? It could be that she wanted validation, you to give her something or to do something for her, she was just being polite or that she acts that way naturally. It could also be that she was attracted to you but she since changed her mind especially if she was showing signs of attraction but she suddenly stopped.

There are actually a number of different reasons why a girl might seemingly lead you on and there are a number of different things that you can consider.

Why a girl would lead you on

Each of the different reasons why a girl will lead you on will likely come with a number of clues in the way that she does it and in the body language that she shows around you.

Below, I will mention a number of reasons why a girl will lead you on the things to consider and the signs to look for.

She wants validation

The reason that she was leading you on could be that she was doing it for validation.

This would be more likely if she also acts in a similar way around other guys as well and if she wouldn’t agree to hang out with you but she did continue to give you the impression that she would in the future.

She wants something from you

The reason that she led you on could be that she wanted something from you.

If this was the case then it would be likely that she would have asked for something from you when she was showing interest in you but that she would have stopped after you did it for her. It would also be more likely if she only seems to show interest in you when she wants things from you.

She is considering seeing someone else

It could also be the case that she is interested in you but she is also interested in seeing another guy as well and she wanted to see how things would go with him.

This would be a lot more likely if there is another guy that you know of that she tends to hang out with and show signs of attraction around.

If she is interested in you then it would be likely that she would show signs of attraction around you such as:

• Brushing her hair to the side when she sees you
• Touching you a lot
• Standing closer to you than she does with other people
• Asking you the most questions
• Stroking her hair while talking to you
• Holding prolonged eye contact with you
• Having dilated pupils when looking at you (people’s pupils dilate when looking at a person they are attracted to)
• Pointing her feet at you (people point their feet at people that they are attracted to)
• Giggling a lot at the things that you say
• Adjusting her appearance when she sees you

She changed her mind

It could also be the case that she was interested in you but she changed her mind.

This would be more likely if she was showing a lot of interest in you and signs of attraction initially but she stopped after a while.

She was just being polite

It could be the case that she was just being polite.

This would be more likely if you were meeting her for the first time or if you were meeting her among mutual friends.

It would also be more likely if she was showing some subtle signs of disinterest such as:

• Looking away often
• Only smiling at the mouth
• Crossing her arms
• Standing further away from you
• Squinting slightly
• Pointing her feet away from you

She acts that way naturally

It could be that she naturally seems to show a lot of interest in the way that she acts naturally.

If this is the case then it would be more likely that she would act in a similar way around other people as well. It would also be more likely if she wasn’t showing many signs of attraction around you that she doesn’t with other people.

You showed too much interest

It could be the case that she was interested in you but you showed too much interest in her and it put her off.

Girls will often lose interest in a guy when he shows a lot of interest in her. If you were the one that was initiating all of the conversations, organizing meeting up and putting in the most effort into the interactions then it would make it more likely that you showed too much interest.

Consider how she reacts to seeing you

When trying to figure out why she led you on it would help to consider the way that she reacts to seeing you.

If she reacts to seeing you by noticeably changing her body language then it would make it more likely that she has good or bad feelings about you depending on how she changes it.

If she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

• Adjusting her appearance
• Brushing her hair to the side
• Positioning herself to be nearer to you
• Pointing her feet at you
• Raising her eyebrows and smiling
• Uncrossing her arms and sitting or standing more upright

Then it would be more likely that she was interested in you.

Whereas, if she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

• Crossing her arms
• Squinting
• Distancing herself from you
• Avoiding eye contact
• Pointing her feet away from you

Then it would be more likely that she is not interested in you.

If she used to react to seeing you by showing positive body language signs but she stopped or she started showing negative body language signs then it would make it more likely that she lost interest in you.

Consider multiple body language signs

When considering what her body language could have been suggesting it would help to look for multiple signs in her body language.

This is because a single body language sign can have multiple different meanings. Whereas, if she was showing multiple body language signs that all suggested the same thing then it would be more likely that she was showing them for that reason.

Consider how she interacts with other people

It would also help to compare the way that she interacts with other people with how she interacts with you.

If she shows similar body language around other people then it would make it more likely that she was actually just acting the way that she normally does and she wasn’t showing interest in the first place.

If she only showed signs of attraction around you then it would make it more likely that she was initially attracted to you but she lost interest or that she started seeing someone else.
