If a girl was recently staring at you from across the room then you might be wondering why and what it might mean about the way that she feels about you.

This post will show you a number of reasons she might have stared at you from across the room and why other girls might do it as well in the future.

So, what does it mean when a girl stares at you from across the room? It could mean that she is attracted to you especially if she only does it with you, she does it repeatedly and if she shows other signs of attraction. She might also think that you’re looking at her, be annoyed with you, do it naturally or she might just be looking in your direction.

Since there are a number of reasons why she might have stared at you from across the room it would help to consider the body language that she was showing and the context of how she did it.

Why a girl will stare at you from across the room

Each of the different reasons why she might have stared at you from across the room will likely come with a number of clues in the way that she did it and the body language she was showing.

In the following sections, I will mention a number of reasons why a girl will stare at you from across the room, the signs to look for and the things to consider.

She is attracted to you

The reason that she stared at you from across the room could be that she is attracted to you.

This would be more likely if she only stares at you, she has done it on multiple occasions, if she has no reason to be annoyed with you and if you weren’t staring at her first.

If she does stare at you from across the room because she is attracted to you then she might show signs of being attracted to you when she is around you by doing things such as:

  • Brushing her hair to the side
  • Having dilated pupils when looking at you
  • Pointing her feet at you
  • Positioning herself to be nearer to you
  • Laughing and looking to see if you are also laughing
  • Adjusting her appearance when she sees you
  • Positioning herself to be nearer to you
  • Quickly looking away or smiling when you notice her looking at you

She thinks that you’re looking at her

It could be the case that she looks at you from across the room because she thinks that you’re doing it to her.

This would be more likely if she started doing it after you had been looking at her yourself and if she only does it with you.

If she does think that you have been looking at her from across the room then she might also show signs of being annoyed with you (mentioned below) and she would be less likely to show signs of attraction.

She is annoyed with you

The reason that she was staring at you could have been that she was annoyed with you.

This would be more likely if she did it after you had both had an argument with each other or after you had done something that might annoy her.

It would also be likely that she would show other signs of being annoyed with you as well such as:

  • Squinting at you
  • Crossing her arms when she sees you
  • Tensing her jaw when looking at you
  • Tightening her lips when around you
  • Distancing herself from you
  • Pointing her feet away from you

She does it naturally

It could be the case that she has a habit of staring at people a lot.

If she does then she would also stare at other people as well, show similar body language around other people as she does around you and she would be less likely to change her body language or behavior when she sees you.

It could be the case that she has a habit of staring at people but she is also attracted to you. If she is then it would be likely that she would show signs of attraction when she is around you.

She wants to see if you’re looking at her

The reason that she does it might be that she wants to see if you like her.

If that is why she stares at you from across the room then it would be likely that she would also show signs of attraction around you and that she would only do it with you.

She is just looking in your direction

It could have been the case that she wasn’t actually staring at you from across the room. She might have just been looking in your general direction.

This would be more likely if she only did it once, if she didn’t react when you looked at her (since she wasn’t actually looking at you) and if her body language is the same around you as it is around other people.

Consider how she reacts to seeing you

When trying to understand why she stares at you from across the room it would help to consider how she reacts to seeing you.

If she reacts to seeing you by changing her body language and behavior then it would be more likely that she either likes you or she doesn’t.

If she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

  • Brushing her hair to the side
  • Adjusting her appearance
  • Pointing her feet at you
  • Straightening her posture and uncrossing her arms
  • Holding eye contact with you

Then it would be more likely that she stares at you from across the room because she likes you.

Whereas, if she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

  • Squinting
  • Crossing her arms
  • Not smiling anymore
  • Pointing her feet away from you
  • Distancing herself from you

Then it would be more likely that she did it because she is annoyed with you.

Consider how she interacts around other people

It would also help to compare the way that she interacts with other people with how she interacts with you.

If she also stares at other people a lot and she shows the same body language around them as she does around you then it would be more likely that she does it naturally.

Whereas, if she only does it with you and her body language is different around you then it would be more likely that she does it because she is attracted to you if she changes it in a way that shows attraction.

Look for a cluster of signs

When trying to understand what her body language could be suggesting it would help to consider multiple body language signs at the same time.

Body language signs on their own often have multiple possible meanings. This makes single body language signs unreliable.

Whereas, it would be more likely that a cluster of body language signs that all suggest the same thing would be there for that reason.
