If you have noticed that a certain guy has been checking you out a lot recently then you’re probably wondering why he might be doing it.
This post will show you why he might have been checking you out and help you to figure out why other guys might be doing it in the future.
So, what does it mean when a guy checks you out more than once? A guy checking you out more than once would likely mean that he is attracted to you especially if he only does it with you and if he shows other signs of attraction around you. It might also be that he thinks you’re looking at him or that he wants to talk to you.
Since there are a number of reasons why he might check you out a lot it is important to consider the context of how he does it and the body language signals that he shows.
By doing so you’ll be able to get a better understanding of the motivations that he has behind checking you out.
Reasons why a guy will check you out more than once
Each of the different reasons why a guy will check you out more than once will likely come with a number of clues in his body language.
Below, I will mention a number of different reasons why he might do it and show you the body language signals that you can expect to see with them.
He’s attracted to you
If he only seems to be being checking you out a lot and his body language changes when you are around then it would be likely that he is attracted to you.
If he is attracted to you then it would be likely that he would show signs of attraction in his body language by doing things such as:
- Having dilated pupils when around you
- Mirroring your body language
- Uncrossing his arms and/or legs when he first notices you
- Raising his eyebrows and smiling when he first sees you
- Asking your friends about you
- Pointing his feet at you
- Laughing and looking to see if you are as well
- Getting anxious when you’re talking to other men and sticking around when you are
- Positioning himself to be near you
- Changing his behavior when he notices you
- Getting defensive when you’re near him and other men are around
He’s being self-conscious
It might be the case that he hasn’t actually been checking you out a lot. Rather, it could be that he has noticed you looking at him and he looks at you to try and figure out why you are looking at him.
If that is the case then it would be likely that you have been looking at him yourself and it would be likely that he would have caught you doing it at some point.
If he does do it because he feels self-conscious then it would be likely that he would show some signs of uncertainty in his body language by doing things such as:
- Rubbing his arms, face, neck or legs a lot
- Tapping his feet or fingers up and down
- Touching the front of his neck
- Scratching the back of his neck
- Self-hugging
He wants to be more than just friends
If he is your friend and he has been checking you out more than once then it could be the case that he wants more than just a friendship with you.
If that is the case then it would be likely that he would have been showing signs of attraction to you that you haven’t noticed.
It would be especially likely that he would get anxious and stick around while you are with other men, keep his attention on you when you’re in a group together and there are multiple people talking and that he would hold prolonged eye contact with you.
He wants to see what you think of him
It could be the case that he is attracted to you but he is unsure of whether or not you are attracted to him and he is trying to see if you are.
If that is why he does it then it would be likely that he would show signs of attraction when around you.
He wants to talk to you
The reason that he wants to talk to you but he is too nervous to do so.
If that is why he checks you out a lot then it would be likely that he would show numerous signs of wanting to talk to you that I have written about in the past here.
Consider how he reacts when he first sees you
The way that he reacts when he first sees you will likely help you figure out why he has been checking you out a lot.
If he tends to sit up straight, aim his feet at you, his pupils become more dilated, he adjusts his clothing or hair and he raises his eyebrows and smiles at you when he first notices you then it would be more likely that he checks you out because he’s attracted to you.
Whereas, if he tends to cross his arms, point his feet away from you, avoid eye contact with you, squint when looking at you and distance himself from you when he first notices you then it would actually suggest that he is annoyed with you in some way.
Think about how he interacts with other people
Comparing how he behaves when he is around other people with how he behaves when he is around you will also likely help you to figure out why he does it.
If he tends to look at other people a lot and he shows the same body language when he is around you as he does when he isn’t then it would be more likely that he naturally looks at people often.
Whereas, if he only seems to look at you a lot and he changes his behavior and body language when he is around you then it would be more likely that he is attracted to you. However, it could also be that he does it because he thinks that you’re checking him out so you should consider the type of body language that he shows around you.
Look for more than one body language signal
When you consider the body language signals that he is showing make sure to look for multiple body language signals that suggest the same meaning.
It could be the case that he would show a single body language signal for many different
Whereas, if he shows a number of different body language signals that can all have the same meaning then it would be much more likely that it’s why he is actually showing those body language signals.
Consider your relationship with him
It would also be helpful to consider the type of relationship that you have with him.
If it is a guy that you haven’t spoken to before then it would be more likely that he checks you out a lot because he is attracted to you and/or he wants to come and talk to you but he’s too nervous too.
Whereas, if he is your friend then it would be more likely that he wants to be more than just friends. But, he might also be mad at you in which case he would likely show signs of being annoyed in his body language.
