If a girl has been repeating what you say then you might be wondering why and what it could mean about what she thinks of you.

This post will show you why she might do it and why other girls might repeat what you say in the future.

So, what does it mean when a girl repeats what you say? If she repeats what you say with a positive tone then it would likely be a sign that she likes you. It could also be that she couldn’t hear you if she did it once or she might have been annoyed with you if she had a more aggressive tone.

Since there are a number of reasons why a girl might repeat what you say it is important to consider the body language that she shows and the context of how she repeats what you say.

Why a girl will repeat what you say

Each of the different reasons why a girl will repeat what you say will likely come with a number of clues in her body language and in the way that she does it.

In the following sections, I will mention a number of reasons why a girl will repeat what you say, the signs to look for and the things to consider.

She likes you

Repeating what you say could be a sign that she likes you.

This would be more likely if she repeats what you say a lot, she does it subconsciously, she does it with a normal tone and she is a similar age to you.

If she does repeat what you say because she likes you then it would be likely that she would show signs of being attracted to you in her body language when she is around you.

These signs could include:

  • Touching you a lot
  • Standing closer to you than she does with other people
  • Asking you lots of questions and giving you more attention than she does to others
  • Holding prolonged eye contact with you
  • Having dilated pupils when looking at you
  • Pointing her feet at you when around you
  • Brushing her hair to the side when she is around you
  • Stroking her hair while talking to you
  • Laughing and looking to see if you are also laughing
  • Laughing a lot at the things that you say
  • Tilting her head while talking to you
  • Adjusting her appearance when she sees you
  • Talking to you with a higher pitch than she does with other people

She does it naturally

It could be the case that she has a habit of repeating what people say.

If she repeats what you say because she does it naturally then it would be likely that she would also repeat what her friends say a lot as well. It would also be likely that she would show similar body language around you as she does with her other friends and that she wouldn’t show many signs of attraction around you.

She couldn’t hear you

The reason that she repeated what you said could be that she couldn’t hear you.

This would be more likely if she repeated what you said once, she did it when you were in a loud environment or if she did it when you didn’t talk to her clearly.

It could still be the case that she does like you even if she did repeat what you said because she couldn’t hear you. If she does then it would be likely that she would show signs of attraction, in her body language, when she is around you.

She was teasing you

Sometimes people will repeat the things that other people say when they are teasing them or mocking them.

If she was teasing or mocking you then it would be more likely that she would have repeated what you said once and that she would have done it with a higher or lower-pitched voice than she normally has.

She was annoyed with you

The reason that she repeated what you said could have been that she was annoyed with you.

This would be more likely if she repeated what you said when she was arguing with you and if she did it with a different pitch to her normal pitch.

If she was annoyed with you then she might have shown it in her body language in other ways as well by doing things such as:

  • Crossing her arms when she was around you
  • Squinting when looking at you
  • Having tight lips when you were talking
  • Pointing her feet away from you
  • Tensing her jaw when looking at you

Consider when and where she did it

When trying to understand why she repeats what you say it would be helpful to consider when and where she does it.

If she only repeats what you say when you’re in a loud environment or when you’re hard to hear then it would be more likely that she does it because she couldn’t understand what you were saying.

If she does it all the time and she does it when she is in a normal mood then it would be more likely that she does it because she likes you.

Think about how she interacts with other people

It would also be helpful to consider what her body language is like when she is with other people.

If she also repeats what other people say a lot and she shows the same body language with her other friends as with you then it would be more likely that she repeats what you say naturally.

Whereas, if she only repeats what you say and she shows more positive body language around you then it would be more likely that she does it because she likes you.

Consider how she reacts to seeing you

It would also be helpful to consider the way that she reacts to seeing you when trying to understand why she repeats what you say.

If she reacts to seeing you by showing positive body language then it would be more likely that she repeats what you say because she likes you.

So, if she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

  • Raising her eyebrows and smiling
  • Brushing her hair to the side
  • Positioning herself to be nearer to you
  • Adjusting her appearance

Then it would be more likely that she repeats what you say due to being attracted to you.

Consider a cluster of body language signs

When trying to understand why she repeats what you say it would be helpful to consider a cluster of body language signs at the same time.

This means that you should consider multiple body language signs at the same time when trying to understand how she might feel about you.

This is because a single body language sign can often have multiple different meanings making it difficult to accurately understand them.

But, a cluster of body language signs that all suggest the same thing would be more reliable to draw conclusions from.

If you want to learn more about body language, a book I would recommend would be The Definitive Book of Body Language (on Amazon). It shows you how to interpret body language and understand people's true intentions.
