If a girl recently called you adorable then you might be wondering why and what it might mean about the way that she feels about you.

This post will help you understand why she might have called you adorable and why other girls might call you adorable as well.

So, what does it mean when a girl calls you adorable? By itself, it wouldn’t mean much other than that she was complimenting you as a friend. If she also shows other signs of attraction around you then it would be more likely that she called you adorable due to being attracted to you.

Since there are a number of reasons why a girl might call you adorable it would be helpful to think about the context of how she said it to you and the body language that she was showing.

By doing so you will be able to get a better idea of why she would call you adorable and the way that she feels about you.

Why a girl will call you adorable

Each of the different reasons why a girl will call you adorable will likely come with a number of clues in the way that she says it and the body language that she shows.

Below, I will mention a number of reasons why a girl will call you adorable, the signs to look for and the things to consider.

She likes you

The reason that she called you adorable could be that she was showing that she is attracted to you.

This would be more likely if she said it when you were alone together, if she is a similar age as you and if she shows positive body language signs around you that she doesn’t with other people.

If she did call you adorable because she likes you then it would be likely that she would show signs of being attracted to you in her body language and behavior when she is around you.

These signs can include:

  • Mirroring your own body language
  • Touching you a lot
  • Standing closer to you, when talking to you, than she does with other people
  • Holding prolonged eye contact with you
  • Having dilated pupils when looking at you
  • Brushing her hair to the side when she is around you
  • Stroking her hair while talking to you
  • Asking you more questions than she does to other people
  • Adjusting her appearance when she sees you
  • Pointing her feet at you when you’re in the same area as her
  • Touching your feet with her feet
  • Laughing and looking to see if you’re also laughing
  • Laughing a lot at the things that you say
  • Asking your friends about you
  • Making plans based on yours

She was being condescending

The reason that she called you adorable could be that she was being condescending.

This would be more likely if she called you adorable with a sarcastic tone, after you made a suggestion or when disagreeing with you.

It would also be likely that she would do other condescending things as well such as:

  • Pointing her chin upwards and looking down at you
  • Smirking when you’re talking
  • Talking down to you
  • Not including you in discussions

She considers you a friend

It could be the case that calling you adorable was a sign that she considers you a friend.

If that was the case then it would be likely that she would show similar body language around you as she does with her other friends. It would also be more likely to be the reason if she also says similar things to her other friends and if she does not show many signs of attraction around you.

She was trying to reassure you

The reason that she called you adorable could be that she was trying to make you feel better.

If that was the case then it would be likely that you would have been telling her about something that made you feel sad and that you were showing signs of being sad. It would also be likely that she would have done other things to reassure you such as to rub your back and to give you other consoling words.

She was talking about your personality

She could have been referring to your personality when she said it.

This would be more likely if she called you adorable after you said or did something. If she was referring to your personality then it may or may not be the case that she is attracted to you. It would be necessary to consider the body language that she was showing you to get a better idea.

Think about the type of relationship that you have with her

When trying to understand why she called you adorable it would be helpful to consider the type of relationship that you have with her.

If you have been friends with her for a while then it would be more likely that she was showing that she considers you a friend when she called you adorable. This would be especially likely if she shows the same body language with you as she does with her other friends. She could have been showing that she was attracted to you if she also shows other signs of attraction when she is around you.

If she was a girl that you didn’t know very well then she could have called you adorable because she was attracted to you, she was talking about your personality, she was being condescending or she might have been trying to be nice. It would be helpful to consider the body language that she was showing, if she said similar things to other people and the way that she called you adorable.

Think about the way that she reacts to seeing you

When trying to understand why she called you adorable and the way that she feels about you it would be helpful to consider the way that she reacts to seeing you.

If she changes her body language, when she sees you, then it would be more likely that she has feelings for you depending on how she changes it.

If she changes it by doing things such as:

  • Holding prolonged eye contact
  • Moving closer to you
  • Adjusting her appearance
  • Brushing her hair to the side
  • Pointing her feet at you
  • Having more dilated pupils

Then it would make it more likely that she is attracted to you and the reason that she called you adorable.

Consider when and where she called you adorable

The timing and location of when she called you adorable would also be a useful consideration to make.

If she called you adorable when you were alone together then it would make it more likely that she was either trying to reassure you or that she was showing attraction. However, she could have been showing that she considers you a friend so it would be helpful to consider the body language that she was showing.

If she called you adorable when you were with other people then it would make it more likely that she was being condescending or that she was showing that she considers you a friend. It would be helpful to consider the way that she said it to you.

Consider how she interacts with others

Comparing the way that she behaves around other people with how she behaves with you will likely help in understanding why she called you adorable.

If she says similar things to other people and she shows the same body language around them as she does around you then it would be more likely that she said it to you naturally without much meaning.

Whereas, if she doesn’t say things like adorable to other people and she changes her body language around you then it would be more likely that she was showing attraction to you. That is assuming that she changes it in a way that shows attraction.

Look for a number of body language signs

It would be helpful to look for a number of different body language signs that all suggest the same thing when trying to understand why she called you adorable.

A single body language sign will often have multiple different possible meanings making it difficult to make sense of accurately.

Whereas, a cluster of body language signs that all suggest the same thing would be more likely to be there for that exact reason.

If you want to learn more about body language, a book I would recommend would be The Definitive Book of Body Language (on Amazon). It shows you how to interpret body language and understand people's true intentions.
