If you have recently noticed that a particular guy tends to stare at you every day then your probably wondering why and what it might mean.

In this post, I will give you a number of reasons why a guy might be doing it and I will try to help you figure it out as it happens in the future.

So what does it mean if a guy stares at you every day? It can mean that he is attracted to you especially if he only stares at you and he shows other signs of attraction around you. It could also be that he has a habit of staring, finds you interesting, doesn’t like you or that he thinks that you’re staring at him yourself.

Since there are a number of possible reasons why a guy would stare at you everyday it is important to consider the other body language signals that he shows.

By doing so you will be able to get a better idea of the motivations that he has behind doing it.

Possible reasons why a guy will stare at you every day

Each of the possible reasons why a guy might stare at you every day would likely come with a number of clues in his body language.

Below, I will mention a number of reasons why a guy will stare at you every day along with the body language signals to look for.

Attraction

If a guy stares at you on a daily basis or if he often glances at you when you’re not looking then there would be a strong chance that he finds you attractive.

If, when you notice him staring at you, he quickly looks away or he smiles then it would make it even more likely that he was checking you out.

If he hasn’t spoken to you yet then it could be the case that he is too nervous to. If you want him to then consider smiling when you catch eye contact with him.

If he does find you attractive then there would likely be a number of other attraction signals that he shows with his body language.

These can include:

  • Having dilated pupils when looking at you
  • Pointing his feet at you even when not directly in front of you
  • Facing his upper body towards you
  • Getting anxious when you’re with other men
  • Laughing and looking to see if you also found it funny
  • Looking and smiling at you when you’re talking
  • Positioning himself to be near you
  • Asking your friends about you
  • Mirroring your body language
  • A lack of negative signals when looking at you such as squinting, tight lips or a clenched jaw
  • Holding eye contact with you for longer than normal
  • Talking to you more than others
  • Touching you more than others
  • Getting defensive when other men are around
  • Standing and sitting in a way that shows his crotch area

He wants to see if you like him

It could be the case that he finds you attractive but he is unsure of whether or not you find him attractive.

The reason that he might tend to look at you is that he wants to see if you show any positive signs towards him.

If this is the case then he would likely show a number of the attraction signals mentioned above.

He tends to think and stare

It could be the case that the reason that it feels like he stares at you every day is that he tends to stare while he is thinking.

If that is why he does it then he would probably do it with a far off sort of expression on his face.

He would also be less likely to react when you notice him since he wouldn’t actually be staring at you. Rather, he would be looking in your general direction.

Unless he’s thinking about something particularly positive or negative he would likely have a neutral looking body language.

He would be less likely to show a number of the signs of attraction in his body language mentioned in the first section.

He likes you but he’s not interested

If he doesn’t talk to you and he doesn’t respond to any signals that you show him then it could be the case that he finds you attractive but he’s not interested in talking to you.

If that is why he does it then he would still likely show a number of signs of attraction towards you but many of the signs wouldn’t be as strong. For example, he would be less likely to get anxious when you’re around other men.

He finds you interesting

It could be the case that he finds you interesting for some reason.

It might be that he respects your opinion on things and he wants to see how you’ll react to things he might think that you have an interesting look or he might think you’re funny.

If that is the case then he would be less likely to show many of the attraction signals mentioned above.

The timing of when he stares at you would also likely be less random. He would be more likely to stare at you when you’re talking or when something happens and he wants to see how you’ll react.

He has a habit of staring

It could be the case that he has a habit of staring at people.

If he does then he wouldn’t just stare at you, he would stare at other people as well.

His body language towards you would also likely appear to be neutral.

He doesn’t like you

It could also be the case that he tends to stare at you every day because he actually doesn’t like you.

Possibly because you said something he didn’t like in the past, he doesn’t like your friendship group or he might not respect your opinions on things.

If that is the case then he would likely show multiple other negative body language signals towards you.

These can include:

  • Squinting
  • Tightened eyebrows when staring
  • Tight lips
  • Clenched jaw
  • Facing the feet away from you
  • Crossing the arms and legs when looking at you
  • Rolling the eyes
  • Constricted pupils
  • Talking over you
  • Interrupting you

He’s noticed you staring at him

It could actually be the case that he has noticed that you tend to look at him which is why he tends to look at you every day.

If that is the case then he would likely look at you when you look at him and his body language would be less likely to show signs of attraction.

It might even be that his body language is apprehensive towards you meaning that he might have tight lips and point the feet away from you.

Alternatively, when people are trying to fit into a certain group they will actually mirror their behaviors.

If he tends to hang out with the same group of people as you and you tend to look at him yourself then he might be mirroring your behavior.

Mirroring can also be a sign of attraction in which case he would likely also show signs of attraction when he’s around you.

If he is mirroring you then he would also likely mirror other behaviors of yours such as:

  • The way you walk
  • Your facial expressions
  • Your laugh and smile
  • The way you stand and sit
  • The pitch and speed that you talk at

Think about when he does it

When trying to figure out what a person’s body language might mean thinking about the timing of when it happens would often be something that would be useful.

If he tends to stare at you when you’re talking or when something happens that you might react to then it would suggest that he wants to see how you’ll respond or what you’ll say.

It might still be the case that he finds you attractive so you’ll have to consider what his body language signals.

If he tends to do it when someone else is talking then it would be more suggestive that he finds you attractive.

Think about where he does it

The location that he tends to stare in would also be something to consider.

If he does it in a location where you give your opinion on things then it would be more likely that he wants to hear what you’ll say. Unless his other body language signs suggest otherwise.

If he does it in a more social setting then it would be more likely that he finds you attractive but he’s too nervous to come and speak to you.

Think about his normal body language

When trying to make sense of a guy’s body language signals it would be helpful to know what his normal body language looks like.

If he tends to stare at other people and his other body language signals don’t change much when he stares at you then it would be more likely that he has a habit of staring.

If he doesn’t tend to stare at other people and his body language changes when looking at you it would be more likely that he finds you attractive or that he doesn’t like you.

If you want to learn more about body language, a book I would recommend would be The Definitive Book of Body Language (on Amazon). It shows you how to interpret body language and understand people's true intentions.
