If a girl has been ignoring you then you might be wondering why and what it might mean about the way that she feels about you.

This post will show you a number of reasons why she might be ignoring you and why other girls might do the same in the future.

So, do girls ignore the guy they like? Sometimes, a girl will ignore a guy that she likes either because she wants him to show more interest, she is shy or shy doesn’t think that he is interested in her.

There are actually a number of reasons why a girl might be ignoring you and it might not necessarily mean that she likes you. There are a number of things that you can consider that will help you to figure out why she is doing it.

Why she could be ignoring you

Each of the different reasons why she might be ignoring you will likely come with a number of clues in the way that she does it and the body language that she shows.

Below, I will mention a number of reasons why she might ignore you, the signs to look for and the things to consider.

She is attracted to you

The reason that she has been ignoring you could be that she likes you.

This would be more likely if she has only been doing it to you and not her other friends as well and if she shows different body language around you compared to with her other friends.

If she is attracted to you then it would be likely that she would show signs of being attracted to you in her body language by doing things such as:

• Brushing her hair to the side when she sees you and when talking to you
• Stroking her hair when talking to you
• Touching you a lot
• Standing closer to you than she does with other people
• Laughing and looking to see if you are laughing as well
• Giggling a lot at the things that you say
• Glancing at you a lot
• Pointing her feet at you (people point their feet at people that they are attracted to)
• Holding prolonged eye contact with you
• Watching you when you are with other girls
• Adjusting her appearance when she sees you
• Having dilated pupils when looking at you (peoples pupils dilate when looking at someone that they are attracted to)

She is not attracted to you

The reason that she has been ignoring you could be that she is not interested in you.

This would be more likely if she was initially showing interest in you but she has since stopped or if she didn’t show signs of interest in the first place.

It could also be the case that she would show signs of disinterest when around you by doing things such as:

• Squint at you
• Only smile with her mouth and not with her eyes
• Look to her friends when talking to you
• Point her feet away from you
• Have tight lips when talking to you
• Stand further away from you than she does with her other friends

She is shy

The reason that she has been ignoring you could be that she is interested in you but she is shy.

If that is the case then it would be likely that she would show signs of interest when she is around you such as those mentioned in the first section.

She would also likely show signs of being nervous when she is around you by doing things such as:

• Rubbing her face, arms or neck
• Struggling to hold eye contact
• Talking to you with a higher pitch than she does with other people
• Fidgeting

She doesn’t want to seem too interested

It might be the case that she does like you but she doesn’t want to seem too interested.

The reason that she might not want to seem too interested could be that she doesn’t want her friends to see that she is and she might want to make you be the one to make the first move.

If this is the case then she might act differently around you compared to when she is with her other friends and she would likely show subtle signs of being attracted to you when she is around you. I have written about signs that she might show you in this blog post.

She thinks that you do not like her

It could also be the case that she thinks that you are the one that is not interested in her.

This would be more likely if she does show signs of attraction when she is around you but you have not shown any interest in her in the past.

She doesn’t consider you a friend

It might also be the case that she isn’t actually ignoring you. Rather she might think that you are not friends.

This would be more likely if she shows neutral body language towards you and if you have only spoken with her a few times in the past and you have not hung out with each other before.

She is annoyed with you

It could be the case that she has been ignoring you because she is annoyed with you.

If this is the case then it would be likely that she would have stared ignoring you after something happened that would cause her to be annoyed with you. It would also be more likely if she was showing interest in you in the past but she suddenly stopped.

If she is annoyed with you then she might show it by doing things such as:

• Squint at you
• Avoid eye contact
• Tighten her lips when she is around you
• Furrow her eyebrows
• Clench her jaw
• Give you short answers

Consider how she reacts to seeing you

Considering the way that she reacts to seeing you could help in figuring out why she has been ignoring you.

If she reacts by noticeably changing her body language and behavior then it would make it more likely that she has good or bad feelings about you.

If she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

• Brushing her hair to the side
• Adjusting her appearance
• Raising her eyebrows momentarily
• Positioning herself to be closer to you
• Seeking eye contact with you

Then it would make it more likely that she is attracted to you.

Whereas, if she reacts to seeing you by doing things such as:

• Squinting
• Avoiding eye contact
• Pointing her feet away from you
• Smiling only at the mouth

Then it would be more likely that she has been ignoring you due to not being interested in you.

Consider how she interacts with other people

Comparing the way that she interacts with other people with how she interacts with you could also help in figuring out how she feels about you.

If she also tends to ignore other people in the same way then it would make it more likely that she was temporarily ignoring you because she was in a bad mood.

Whereas, if she only does it to you and she shows different body language around you then it would be more likely that she has good or bad feelings about you depending on how she changes it.

Look for a number of signs

It would also help to consider a number of different body language signs when trying to figure out why she ignored you.

If she only shows a single body language sign of something then it would be less reliable since single body language signs can have multiple possible meanings.

Whereas, if she shows multiple body language signs that all suggest the same thing then it would be more likely that she is showing them for that reason.
